"People inspire me every day. It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone has their own story to tell. That’s why I love my podcast because I get to speak to different people each episode.
But, if I had to pick two individuals who have inspired me, I would say Issa Rae and Mindy Kaling. They are two independent female minorities who have done so much and I hope I could be half as great as them."
Causes you advocate for?
"I’ve learned more in this past year that having strong mental health is very important. You have to take a step back and release the tensions in your life. Don’t bottle up negative energy! It’s okay to be upset, but it’s okay to share your feelings as well. And if something is not working, you have the power to change it. Just remember that everyone has their own time and don’t give up on who you want to be."
Where is your favorite place to be creative?
"I would for sure say on my train rides home. I always think of awesome ideas on those long commutes. I mean that’s where I thought up my podcast. It’s a time for me really to decompress the day. And if it’s not on a train, I love going to a cute coffee shop with my laptop or notebook. Coffee is my best friend!"
What do you love about the state you live in?
"I wouldn’t say New York City is my favorite city, but it’s home! I know for sure that I wouldn’t have been exposed to as much: diversity, culture or adventure if I lived anywhere else. I can honestly say that I’m a proud New Yorker. And I love that you can still find beauty even in the darkest of times."
