Boy Meets Girl® x Macy's Real Stories: Featured in WWD & the LA Times
Boy Meets Girl® has officially launched in Macy's. The Real Stories campaign, shot by Sophie Elgort, features inspiring people, and we're sharing their real stories.
We had an Instagram casting for this, in which hundreds of people DMed us to tell us what inspired them and what they strive for. After meeting so many amazing people at the casting, we narrowed it down to these four amazing individuals (which was very hard given all the talent that came our way).
The music in this video is by Roselle Dae - who just so happened to be the friend who brought one of our features, Essence, to the shoot. Stacy Igel found out that she could sing, and loved her music - so we, of course, had to bring her into the campaign! Her awesome vocals definitely complete this video. The video was shot by Caroline (one of our features) while she was behind the camera!
The campaign and our launch in Macy's was featured in Women's Wear Daily & the Los Angeles Times earlier this week, see here:
"I love what Macy’s has been doing lately as a company, and the value they place on important social issues which align with the Boy Meets Girl philosophy,” said Stacy Igel, founder and creative director.
According to WWD, "The brand will be carried in 28 Macy’s stores and macys.com. It is housed in the fourth floor Impulse Sportswear department at the Herald Square flagship."
Cassandra Jones, senior vice president of Macy’s fashion, said, “Boy Meets Girl, from its beginnings, has been a brand that stands out because of its creative approach to fashion. Not only are the clothes fun and on-trend, truly nailing the urban, street wear vibe the athleisure movement has embraced, but the positive message of self-confidence behind the brand’s identity is something we stand behind and are proud to bring to our customers.”
As quoted in WWD: "To promote the line, Igel decided this season to cast “real people” in the Boy Meets Girl campaign. Working with photographer Sophie Elgort, she ran an Instagram “real stories” contest where all the models were asked to share what they strive for and what they dream about. Entries were sent via Instagram and four “real people” were cast, two dancers, one up-and-coming model and a videographer. It will appear on Boy Meets Girl, Macy’s and Elgort’s social channels."
Stay tuned throughout this week on our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to learn more about our Real Stories features:
CAROLINE - Videographer, photographer, and occasionally a model, she flew in from Ohio to be a part of this shoot. She took the video footage above while being in front of the camera. Crazy talented, right?
