Summer Staycation: 6 Activities to Do Instead of a Vacation
Are you having a hard time planning a week-long getaway? Luckily, we're here to help. We might slip in some OOTD inspiration too! ;)
Our team came up with five fun activities that can just be done over a weekend!
1) Go somewhere within a 50-mile radius & stay for the weekend!
It never hurts to explore your local surroundings! Pick a direction, get a train ticket, or just drive. Explore a new place for it's culture, food, and people. You may be surprised with how much you'll learn and see!
Boy Meets Girl piece for this: The Alice Tee - the perfect staple t-shirt that can be worn anytime, anywhere - short road-trips included.
2) Get a lake house for the weekend in your area with your closet friends.
Get enough friends together, and this will cost next nothing! Make food together, hit up the lake, kayak, and just spend time together! There will be fun late nights drinking wine and catching up on all that is going on in your lives.

3) Find out what local music events are going on around you, and go!
At Boy Meets Girl, we love concerts! Whether it is a band you know or not, check it out anyway. Discovering new music is always fun, and if it's a small concert - you might get to be up close & personal with the talent! You never know, they may be a star on the rise.
Boy Meets Girl piece for this: Live to Inspire Raglan Crop Top - music inspires us all, make that statement while rocking out.
4) Go on a food tour (or make up your own)!
Who doesn't love food? If your town has a Little Italy or Chinatown, go for a day and try out different dishes with some of your closest friends! In NYC's Little Italy, it's easy to make the best of friends with the hosts standing outside. The community presence alone with make it the best time. Smorgasburg in Brooklyn is also a popular one-stop shop for this!
Boy Meets Girl piece for this: Reflection Muscle Tank - this tank is the perfect fit for something like this (and the color black will hide any food stains... lol ;]).
5) Hop from rooftop to rooftop (21 & over only, of course).
Make sure to pace yourself, but trying a one drink at a couple of rooftops bars can be a fun experience! Also, most of them have fun food-plates can be shared. Eat, drink, and be merry!
Boy Meets Girl piece for this: Boy Meets Girl Tee (Crew Neck) & Lasting Joy Over-sized Denim Jacket - this fitted tee gives off a cool vibes, and tie the jacket around your waist (just in case it gets a little cool at night).
6) Find a park, and have a picnic!
This one can be fun for you and a significant other, or just a group of friends! Pack a basket of some wine and cheese, and lay out in the sun. In NYC, the Great Lawn is a great place to do this.
