Will you be voting by mail or in-person, if so why?
"In-person. I feel comfortable enough to go in-person on election day. I am also planning on being a poll worker so voting in-person made the most sense for me."
Why do you VOTE?
"I vote because it’s an opportunity given to us for our voices be heard. It makes me feel good to know that I get to be a part of history. Even if the contribution feels small to some people, I think it holds a lot of power."
Why is it important for others to know to VOTE?
"It’s important for them to understand their opinion does matter. Even if their vote doesn’t feel like it matters to them personally, it certainly matters to a lot of others who are more heavily affected by the outcome of this election."
What would you say to someone that says, “My vote doesn’t count?”
"I would say it really only doesn’t count if you don’t vote. When the mentally of “my vote doesn’t count” is stronger than those who believe that it can make a difference I feel that’s when our communities lose because that frame of mind can be passed on to others. They all will lose the chance to be heard."
How are you letting others know about voting, voter registration, and more?
"Social media. Social media. Social media. I think it's important to share the info even if you feel like your “reach” or “audience” is just to your friends. They may not know all the info you think they do and any chance to educate on the matter can be beneficial."
How do you think you can use your voice to make a difference in society?
"I think I can use my voice to amplify those voices who may not be taken as seriously or heard as loud. I think it’s important to recognize that there are some people who are not heard and not given the chance, so we should use our opportunities to bring the voices of the less privileged to a larger stage."
Do you believe the youth can make a difference when it comes to voting?
"A hundred million percent. I think when someone under 18 unable to vote takes a stand on issues dealing with our nation it makes adults at least take notice. Not all will listen but I feel that it makes adults and parents think about their child’s future. We as a country need to work together to increase the numbers of young voters."
What causes are you the most passionate about when it comes to voting?
"Making others see and understand the impact of climate change on our environment is a matter that needs to be addressed now. Saving our environment and creating new sustainable ways to live with today’s increase in technology can be the key to a greener future. I feel strongly about a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body and to not allow another party to make life-changing decisions for her. I also feel that financial aid to those in industries hit the hardest due to this pandemic, in particular the entertainment industry, is an issue that needs to be addressed. Hopefully after this election, something will be done to save the arts not only in New York, but around the country."
