Will you be voting by mail or in-person, if so why?
"100 percent I’ll be showing up for democracy in-person! I never miss voting in-person, except when I lived in Paris and mailed it in, which is safe and proven effective since the civil war when Lincoln enacted legislation for soldiers to vote by mail."
Why do you VOTE?
"I have DNA that goes back to colonial Jamestown settlements. Members of my family were enslaved and through relentlessness work and sacrifice, every generation of my family is represented by a decorated US veteran, I have the right to vote. I was born the year African-Americans were granted the right to vote in all 50 states. It would be a SIN to take voting privileges for granted. Voter intimidation and gerrymandering still exists and it continues to be an extremely effective form of voter suppression in US. Showing up in-person is the best way to defend our right to vote."
Why is it important for others to know to VOTE?
"Create your own future when you vote. You’re never going to vote today and wake-up to see your ideal world tomorrow, but when we all vote it may take 4 years or 8 years and definitely within a generation you’ll live in a world that’s changed for the better because YOU voted for what you believe in for our country and the world."
What would you say to someone that says, “My vote doesn’t count?”
“'Do you want to live on your feet or on your knees?' NEVER give away your power if you don’t go to the polls in your areas those locations will likely close and you’ve robbed yourself of your legacy and your community of its power to be heard and represented."
How are you letting others know about voting, voter registration, and more?
"I’ve registered all the friends and family members who’ve needed my help or an extra push to go out and vote. I’ve got it written on my chest! Wearing my Boy Meets Girl hoodie starts the conversation."
How do you think you can use your voice to make a difference in society?
"Telling people the reason I vote - I want to live in a country that continues to grow and evolve by granting civil rights."
Do you believe the youth can make a difference when it comes to voting?
"2024 will see the largest number of 18 year olds eligible to vote in a century! There’s power in numbers."
