Later in her youth, Alexandra participated in competitive Cheer and Gymnastics and quickly rose to become Captain during which time she eventually lead her team to win the World Championship title for two consecutive years. Her desire and passion for performance carried over into her teenage career as an actress in New York City where she worked. She has studied method acting over a decade, through the Actors Studio and with one of her many mentors, Elizabeth Kemp.
Alexandra has now branched into producing and writing, skills she learned and honed while shadowing Martin Bregman and his son Michael Bregman. Krystal and Alexandra were recently covered on the Huffington Post the same day they were in New York shooting with us for this muse feature. You will also see Boy Meets Girl clothing grace the big screen! I met Krystal in 2009 and Alexandra the day of our shoot. Krystal has a ball of energy and has a go get em spirit. I knew any friend/colleague of Krystal would be an incredible person as the apple does not fall far from the tree. These two women exude positivity and confidence and I am so excited for you to get to know them. Check out my BTS Q&A with below. Thank you Krystal and Alexandra for being our Muses of the Week! xo, Stacy
1. Are you a subway or car (via, uber, lyft) girl?
Krystal: I recently moved to an area in Hollywood where I am able to walk everywhere. I LOVE IT! Depending on the circumstances, I will call a car so I can relax in the back seat and chill. I've been in one too many car accidents, so driving isn't my favorite pastime, lol.
Alexandra: I have always loved to walk and take the subway as people watching was my favorite thing to do growing up and living in New York City. Since I've recently relocated to Los Angeles I've had to rely on Uber..: I just got my first car and I am actually driving in a convertible through the beautiful weather in California... It feels so fresh and new for me like I'm a 17-year-old girl. I've tried using Lyft not a fan... my favorite workout was jogging down the Hudson river on the upper West side by my apartment... Acting coach told me if I was to be truly committed to my health and fitness, which was a necessity as an actress, that even if it rained I had to go for my jog... I learned that running in the rain is quite exciting!
2. Favorite spot to be creative?
Krystal: Inspiration comes to me in various places, however I get all my writing and work done at home in my "Think Tank". I am such a home-body, a few scented candles, dimmed lighting, and classical music or soundscapes is the method to me being the most productive and focused.
Alexandra: I love being in nature, being inspired by art and history... But it seems that I am the most creative at home alone in the middle of the night when the whole city is quiet. I wrote our film between midnight and 5 o'clock in the morning... Much like everything I do creatively.
3. Causes you advocate for?
Krystal: It's always been a dream of mine to start an organization for underprivileged kids. I want it to be a place where they can be taught privy information to carry themselves in society and in the business world. I'd like for them to gain confidence by learning these skills and capabilities so they can adapt into any environment.
Alexandra: I am an advocate for all foundations working to better humanity and the world we live in. There isn't any just one particular foundation I support. According to where I am and which charities I'm exposed to I always feel moved to help. I've personally raised money for Face Forward LA - a personalized charity for battered women to have reconstructive surgery on their faces, as well as "Cause 4 Paws" animal rescue services and foster care services. I own a rescue pup for 5years now. Mona Lisa is my best friend and "dogter" - little 7yr old white Chiweenie full of love! I think every ounce of light shed helps.
4. Favorite quote?
Krystal: Quotes are my favorite. If you look at my IG most of my tag-lines are quotes. If I must pick one, it would be "Everything happens for a reason." I could elaborate for days on this, but to keep it short, I have complete trust in this quote and I completely identify with it. You are always exactly where you are suppose to be, there are not accidents, and I don't believe in coincidences. It's all there FOR YOU!
Alexandra: "to be or not to be" – as this is a timeless human condition... Shakespeare (the one and only timeless storytelling genius in my Opinion) I like daily positive uplifting quotes - to pick just one would be utterly impossible.
5. Tell us about the last moment you shared with someone?
Krystal: I was patiently waiting for my masseuse to come get me from the spa waiting room, and in walks in this blind man with his walking stick. He called my name and my first thought was, "is this my masseuse?" I quickly hesitated and then smiled and followed his lead. He ended up being a very special spirit. We connected immediately and he gave me the best massage ever! He explained that by not having eye sight that he is challenged to connect with his clients in a different way. He thanked me for not getting scared or requesting a different masseuse... It was a beautiful experience!
Alexandra: Just yesterday I shared a drive through the country side in the south of France. My mate and I are visiting his elderly parents... After a long journey, we were suddenly not in a plane or on a train anymore, but in a zippy convertible listening to Chopin hand in hand beneath the sun setting its gorgeous light across the historical vista. I've never felt such peace!
