Let's Talk About Voting: Stacy Igel & Future Voter, Dylan Reid Igel
Will you be voting by mail or in-person, if so why?
SI - "I have been taking Dylan to vote with me since he was in my womb. This year I wasn’t sure what to do with COVID as we have been staying away from large organized gatherings. So I did vote via absentee ballot already. However, Dylan asked me to go to vote in person so we are going to help out in person."
DRI - "Yes, I told Mommy I want to go in person with her."
Why do you VOTE?
SI & DRI - "We live in America. It is our civic duty to VOTE. There are people who do not have this right. It is our responsibility to vote!"
Why is it important for others to know to VOTE?
SI - Some people think their vote will not make a difference . That is WRONG. It does not matter which side you stand on you have a right to vote that should not be taken for granted!
DRI - "So we can make the world a better place. Just like John Lennon sang in his song 'Imagine'."
What would you say to someone that says, “My vote doesn’t count?”
SI - "I would say you are crazy!"
DRI - "I would say what Mommy just said!"
How are you letting others know about voting, voter registration, and more?
SI - "Through all my brand platforms. I am grateful to have digital platforms to be able to do that and direct others to do so!"
DRI - "I have my own IG and sharing through Mommy."
How do you think you can use your voice to make a difference in society?
SI - "I am trying every day to bring communities together to share the different places people come from and have our community understand we are all not all the same. Through my brand and my own personal brand I share topics on immigration “IMMIGRANTS ARE US”, voting, bullying, gun control, women’s rights , breast cancer in young women, anti-racism, sustainability and more. This is has been my mission and I will continue to do this every day."
DRI - "Mommy says the youth voices are the future so I am learning how to use my voice and reading all different books to learn each day."
Do you believe the youth can make a difference when it comes to voting?
SI & DRI - "YES!"
What causes are you the most passionate about when it comes to voting?
DRI - "Having a smart president to lead our country not one that tweets silly things!"
